Hala is a short film written and directed by Minhal Baig, which follows a 16-year-old Muslim teenager Hala (Tess Granfield) as she attempts to explore her sexuality and identity while growing up in a conservative, religious household. Striking in both style and story, Hala impresses with its strong performances, subtle storytelling and restrained cinematography, all of which combine into a 14-minute short that is set to leave a lasting impression on all that view it.
